A new company — just not new people.
How we started
Nordic Lights Adventures is owned equally by Ray and Alex, on one rule neither of us has broken yet: whoever leads a tour on paper leads it in the snow, too. Neither of us wanted a business we'd end up running from behind a desk.
Ray's route here was long before it was direct. Fifteen-plus years of guiding took him from reading animal behaviour as an Everglades wildlife guide in Florida to reading cloud cover, moon phase and solar wind for sky-watchers in Finnish Lapland. Different landscapes, same instinct: know the terrain better than the people in your care expect you to.
Alex brings the other half of the map. Fifteen-plus years living in Rovaniemi means knowing which places, routes and customs are worth a guest's time and which aren't — and real, hands-on experience of finding the aurora when the forecast is borderline.
Between the two of us, this is a new company. We're just not new people.

Rovaniemi resident for 15+ years, with deep first-hand knowledge of Lapland's roads, places and seasons — and years of chasing the lights.
What guides us
Northern Lights are a probability, not a guarantee. We check activity, cloud and moon before every departure and tell you straight if a night looks thin.
2–6 people, picked up from your door. The person telling the story is the one watching the road.
Lapland's roads, ice and weather change fast. Route and safety checks happen before every trip, not once a season.
