The aurora promise

Didn't see the lights? Ride again free.

If we see no aurora at all — not even a faint arc — you come out again free, any night you're still in Rovaniemi. No cash refund, no asterisk. Just another night out, on the house.

  • Tell your guide that night, or message us by noon the next day.
  • Any night you're still in Rovaniemi, as long as there's a seat in the van.
  • It's a second night out, not a cash refund.

Who's driving

Two founders, one van

Nordic Lights Adventures is Ray and Alex, 50/50, guiding every trip themselves. No call centre, no hired-in drivers — the person who answers your email is the person driving.

Ray has spent 15+ years guiding, from the Everglades in Florida to the aurora skies of Lapland. Alex has called Rovaniemi home for just as long and knows the roads, the routes and the seasons.

We launched in 2026. Every early guest gets our full attention.

Before you book

Questions, answered plainly

Is seeing the Northern Lights guaranteed?

No one can honestly guarantee the aurora — it is nature. What we do is read the forecast, the cloud cover and the moon before every trip and drive to the clearest sky we can reach. If we see no aurora at all, you can come out again free on another night while you are in Rovaniemi.

Where do you pick us up?

From your hotel, cabin or apartment anywhere within 25 km of Rovaniemi, free of charge. Further resorts cost €25 per group, and we tell you before you book.

How cold will it be, and what should we wear?

Expect −5 °C to −25 °C in winter. We do not supply thermal suits, so please bring several warm layers, a warm coat, hat, gloves, a scarf and proper winter boots. On the aurora hunt you will spend time standing outside, so dress warmer than you think.

Can children join?

Yes. Children 4–13 pay a child price (Santa €75, aurora €105) and infants 0–3 are free. For the aurora hunt we recommend ages 6+ because it is a late, cold night. Shared Aurora Express departures are adults only. Please bring your own approved child seat for children under 135 cm.

How big are the groups?

Between 2 and 6 guests in one minivan — never a bus. Private trips are just your group.
